Scheduling bad habits:
If there is a habit in your life that you would like to cut out, try putting on your calendar.
Wait what?!
If you’d like to scroll on your phone less, block out a time specifically for scrolling and two (or more) things will happen:
The guilt and shame that you feel around this habit will dissipate because you will feel much calmer knowing it’s what you’re “supposed” to be doing. You’ve allotted time for it, and there’s not another task at hand. Reducing this stress can have a big impact on your life.
You will have agency over the habit. You are choosing when and for how long you will partake in it, and not acting at the will of the habit and letting it consume you.
You are in control!
Eventually you might find that you'd like to reserve that space on your calendar for something else... like a good habit :)
