And what do you need to develop skills? Practice and consistency.
I don’t know about you, but when I hear the word “consistency”, I often think of another word, “BORING!” The truth is, consistency is in fact NOT boring! What consistency truly is, is FREEDOM.
When I ponder the times in my life when I thought things were going really great, I try to think of the “protocols” I was consistently implementing, and think, “If I could just get back to doing all those things, everything would be great again!” And where the habits I was partaking in did have meaning and did bring growth, the most important factor in it all was, you guessed it, the CONSISTENCY.
It mattered less the things I was doing, and mattered more that I was steadfast in doing them. It was the fact that I was getting up and repeating the same things again and again even if I didn’t feel like it.
It was the discipline.
Apply this to nutrition. Manifest the mindset that you don’t do it as a diet or as punishment- you do it as a skill to enhance every aspect of your life, mind, and body.
