I’ve been talking to a lot of people lately about food having a neutral charge. Food is not good or bad- it is neutral. And actually the way I like to look at food, or the question I like to ask is:
Is it useful?
There is not good food or bad food, but there IS food that is useful.
And, there’s a big difference between feeling satiated and feeling nourished.
There’s a lot of things I could eat that will make me full or feel satiated- a whole bag of marshmallows or a tub of ice cream will make me feel full 🤢 but will they make me feel nourished?
I believe feeling nourished, truly nourished, can also equal pleasure. But with that said, I also need to point out now that there’s a big difference between pleasure and instant gratification.
I’m not going to dwell on this, or explain it much more for now… I just want you to think about these concepts.
Think about our amazing bodies and their amazing intuition and knowledge and signals. When we listen, they tell us loud and clear what we need and what we don’t need- what is useful and what is not useful.
I don’t know about you, but it’s my goal NOT to waste my precious time and energy on too many things that are not useful. I’d rather spend it on things that I love- things that nourish me and bring me pleasure.
Don’t let food, or anything else for that matter, hijack your energy!
