Keep it simple!

Embrace the small: the best way to make a lasting change is to develop a consistent and sustainable strategy. Start small and stack good (and easy) habits. Want to know a small strategy that can make a huge difference in your health?!

EAT MORE SLOWLY. That’s it. If you don’t make any other changes to your nutrition, this practice alone can have MASSIVE RESULTS. For one thing, the more mindful we are in ANYTHING we do, the happier we will be. But this habit will especially be impactful in helping you:

*Eat the right amount of food and avoid overeating- eating slowly will help you heed your hunger and satiation cues.

*Better digest your food.

*Savor your food and the experience of eating it- how many times have you just gulped something down on the way to your next meeting or event and you can’t even remember it?

It might seem simple but it takes practice.

And here’s how:

1)Take a two-minute intermission halfway through your meal. After two minutes continue eating if you need to, or you may find that you’re done.

2) Put your fork down after you take a bite. How often do you barely chew what’s in your mouth before you scoop up another bite? Try putting your utensils down between bites and mindfully chew, savor, and enjoy the bite in your mouth.

During these breaks do not mindlessly scroll through your phone or check your email or do any other tasks! Just eat! Be present with your food.
